Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Review: RTX Gaming Beast for Hardcore Gamers

WiredufredMarch 15, 20268 min read5 / 5

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i packs an RTX 4080 GPU, 32GB RAM, and a stunning 240Hz display into a premium chassis. We put it through its paces in the most demanding games and creative workloads.

Overview

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is a powerhouse gaming laptop that does not compromise on performance. With its RTX 4080 GPU and Intel Core i9 processor, it handles everything from AAA gaming to 4K video editing with ease.

Performance

In our benchmarks, the Legion Pro 7i scored exceptionally well across all categories. Cyberpunk 2077 at Ultra settings averaged 95 FPS at 1440p, while Forza Horizon 5 hit a smooth 120+ FPS consistently.

Display

The 16-inch IPS panel with 240Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage is one of the best gaming displays we have tested. Colors are vibrant, response times are snappy, and the anti-glare coating works well in bright environments.

Build Quality

The aluminum chassis feels premium and robust. At 2.5kg it is not the lightest gaming laptop, but the build quality justifies the weight. The keyboard has excellent travel and the per-key RGB lighting is customizable via Lenovo Vantage.

Battery Life

Gaming laptops are not known for battery life, and the Legion Pro 7i is no exception. Expect around 3-4 hours of light use, or 1.5-2 hours of gaming. The 300W power brick is large but necessary.

Verdict

The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is one of the best gaming laptops of 2026. If you need maximum performance and do not mind the price tag, this is the laptop to get.

Great review! I just ordered mine and cannot wait for it to arrive. The RTX 4080 performance numbers are impressive.

How does it compare to the ASUS ROG Strix? I am torn between the two.

The ROG Strix is also excellent, but the Legion Pro 7i has better thermals and a slightly better display in my testing.
